Spooky Podcast Episodes for Spooky Season
Welcome back! Today is all about spooky podcast episodes you can listen to right now to get into the Halloween spirit.
I have done blog posts about podcasts before (which you check out here & here). Some of these podcasts may be on my previous posts, however, my main focus today is going to be on specific episodes I liked.
Overall, I highly recommend each and every one of the podcasts I will be mentioning. If you’re into the true crime and the paranormal, you will definitely love these episodes!
I will be embedding each episode into this post but you can listen to any of these podcasts on the Podcasts app on iPhone, or on Spotify. Enjoy!
Two Girls One Ghost-Encounters x97
I discovered “Two Girls One Ghost” during quarantine. The podcast is hosted by best friends Sabrina and Corinne. Every Sunday, they release an episode regarding the paranormal. However, my favorite is their “encounters” episodes. Here, they read listener submitted stories. I’ve listened to several of these (they do them pretty often) and have never been disappointed. I have linked the latest “encounters” episode below!
Spooked-Isabelle
Ok Y'all, “Spooked” is legitimately scary. I started listening recently in July or August and it’s exactly what I was looking for. Each week, one or two people retell their personal paranormal stories.
I loved this podcast so much that I actually paid a subscription for it. This podcast is available on any free platform, but they don’t release each episode they make (thus why I paid for it). Regardless, you can listen to several of their episodes for free. One episode that stood out to me is “Isabelle”. I was terrified for the girl who tells the story and you’ll find out why if you listen.
Mile Higher Podcast- The Chilling Mystery Of The Black Dahlia
I know for a fact I have talked about “Mile Higher” before and with good reason. Each Monday, YouTuber Kendall Rae and her husband Josh Thomas delve into conspiracy theories, true crime cases, and unsolved mysteries. For spooky season, they recently did an episode on the 1947 death of Elizabeth Short AKA, the Black Dahlia murder case.
I will not get into the graphic details (listen to the episode) but, I will say that this is probably the most notorious murder case in Los Angeles. What’s even more haunting, is that it still hasn’t been solved.
Lights Out Podcast-The Terrifying Exorcisms of Anneliese Michel
Josh Thomas (yes, the one I just mentioned from above) hosts “Lights Out” with his brother. While Mile Higher stays away from the paranormal, “Lights Out” focuses directly on it. In my last few posts, I have spoken about “Lights out”. They release an episode every Friday and man, they can get pretty spooky. I recommend each episode, but this is the episode that stood out to me.
Not only do they play audio of said exorcism, but they also get into depth about the entire story (which later turned into a homicide case). Michel’s story actually inspired the movie “The exorcism of Emily Rose”.
Radio Rental-Episode 02
“Radio Rental” is probably the most unique podcast on this list. This is an anthology series hosted by Rainn Wilson. Wilson plays a character named Terry Carnation, the owner of a video store. He plays VHS tapes, which end up being the stories you’re going to listen to. If you’ve ever watched “Tales from the Crypt”, it’s pretty much exactly like that.
The stories are people’s own personal experiences with the unexplained or encounters they have had. They are not necessarily paranormal though, which arguably makes it even scarier.
In episode 02, you get to hear about a young woman’s encounter with a serial killer and a young man’s encounter with a doppelganger. Unlike the other podcasts on this list, “Radio Rental” does not release an episode each week, they go by season. Each episode is 30-40 minutes, so if you want a small dose of spookiness, definitely listen to each episode.
