If we’re being completely honest, our relationship was never that deep. You were a bright popular student with the world ahead of you, I was an insecure recluse on my way to what you called UC Torrance (El Camino College).
Perhaps it’s silly, even stupid of me to be writing this all these years later but after we ended things, we never spoke again.
First and foremost, I want you to know I hold no ill feelings towards you. Our relationship wasn’t deep, but in my eyes, our friendship was. We were two misfits trying to make sense of it all. And how could we? You were way too tall and I too short.
Regardless of what went down between us way back then, your fondness of me made me feel light and peaceful, something I desperately needed at the time.
I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but if you do, I hope you are doing well. I hope that if we ever run into each other, you’ll say “hi” so we can laugh about the dumb shit we use to say.
I remember someone pointed at us one time and said we belonged in circus, I think we still do.
