Life Update & Spooky Articles

Hello friends! Looking back at my recent posts, I’ve realized I haven’t written anything personal. Yes, I write about my adventures and my interests, but I have not given any insight into my life beyond those things.

So today is a life update post! And because it’s me, there is of course going to be a spooky element to it.

First things first, things have been going pretty well in my life for the last few months and I am grateful beyond belief to the universe and God. In August, I left the job I had been working since January 2020.

For those who don’t know, I was formerly a copywriter at a local furniture store in Downtown Long Beach. I enjoyed my job and my employers were very kind. The pay, however, was very low and the commute was not ideal.

Since May 2020, I had been working remotely from home. Then from September until December 2020, I was working some days at the store, other days at home. Around Christmas time, COVID cases were on the rise and I asked my boss if I could work from home full time for the time being and she said yes.

Since graduating college in 2019, I have always wanted a remote job. I know it’s not for everyone but it works with my lifestyle and it saves me money on gas (I also have a 20-year-old car that gives me issues from time to time).

My career as a copywriter/writer allows me to pretty much work anywhere. By the summer though, my boss wanted me back at the store and I felt like it was time for me to move on.

One of my closest friends, Adam, worked for Looper, an entertainment and pop culture website. He had always said he felt like the job was a good fit for me. When he told me their sister site, Grunge was hiring I applied.

Long story short, I now work remotely as a writer for Grunge (my bio is pictured below!).

Grunge focuses on true crime, history, and unexplained mysteries. In other words, it’s kind of my dream job! I don’t currently work full time for them but I hope to do so eventually.

This leads me into articles I’ve written that I believe are perfect for spooky season 👻. Click on the links below to read about some eerie and unforgettable sh**.
