My LA Weekend

My LA Weekend

Hi guys! Happy Monday and happy Veterans Day. I had a pretty fun and busy weekend and wanted to tell ya’ll about it. I usually try to keep things low-key, but for some reason, this time was different!

Let’s get into what I did this weekend, shall we?

Friday:

  • On Friday, I woke up at 6 a.m., and was out the door by 8 a.m. to get to CSULB to do some homework. I usually don’t go to school on Friday’s, however, on this particular Friday, I was going to meet up with my DIG MAG team for lunch at the LBX Hangar .The Hangar is not far from school so I decided going in to get some work done before lunch would be best.

  • Lunch was great and lots of fun! A few of my friends and I ended up talking for hours and I didn’t get home till about 6:30! BTW, if Ya’ll have not been to the Hangar, I highly recommend! It’s relatively new and it reminds me of a tiny Grand Central Market.

  • After I got home, I had some dinner, showered, watched some TV, and eventually fell asleep by 9.

    Saturday:

  • I woke up bright and early on Saturday to clean and get ready to go to Beverly Hills with one of my best friends, Brigitte. She picked me up, we got lunch at Shake Shack, and off we went.

  • Why was a broke girl like me going to Beverly Hills? Since June, there’s been a Louis Vuitton X exhibit . The exhibit celebrated 160 years of history and collaborations Louis Vuitton has done. This past weekend was the last few days of the exhibit, so I knew I had to go and see it. Admission was free and wow, it was breathtaking!

  • Below are some photos I took, they don’t do the exhibit justice, but it will give you an idea of what it was like! I don’t know much about fashion, but I love art and wow, was it art. Everything is so detailed and so rare. The exhibit exceeded my expectations and it truly felt like I was at MoMA.

  • Besides the exhibit, Brigitte and I ended up going to the actual Louis Vuitton store. I was in awe of everything. It is truly crazy that handbags could be so beautiful. Anyways, Brigitte ended up making a purchase at the store and even got a book at the exhibit (there was a pop up shop), which is why you see us holding bags in the cover photo used for this blog post. (Thank you Brigitte for letting me hold one of the bags for the photo, it truly meant a lot)

  • After, we drove home and I ate some cup of noodles in bed and pondered how to acquire generational wealth.

Sunday:

  • Ahh Sunday, the day of the Lord. Yesterday was a special Sunday because my boyfriend Cain and I (pictured below), went to Kanye West’s Sunday Service at the Forum in Inglewood. To be honest, I am not really a Kanye fan, but I am open to new experiences, so I was pretty excited to go!

  • I will not go too in depth about the Sunday Service, because I will be writing a story about it, but I will tell you that the choir that sings with Kanye is truly beautiful, as is the stage decorations for the service.

  • The service took up most of the evening, and Cain was pretty disappointed that Kanye did not perform his 2004 song “Jesus Walks”. We still had a pretty good time, and I was even bopping to the choir at some point!

  • When I got home, I showered, and watched 90 Day Fiancé, and other bad TV shows until I fell asleep some time before 10.

As you can see, I had quite the eventful weekend! It was loads of fun but it was exhausting. I have spent today catching up on work and relaxing. I can’t complain though, it’s just part of The Leslie Life.
