My First Ever ASMR Video

My First Ever ASMR Video

Hello and happy Monday! As you can see, today’s post is completely different. Today, I am going to be discussing as well as sharing my own ASMR video.

Before I get into talking about the video I made, I want to discuss a little bit about what ASMR is about for those who may be unfamiliar with it.

Essentially, ASMR is the sensation you get (most would describe it as tingles) from certain sounds or activities. Most people, including myself, find it pretty relaxing and soothing.

Although I filmed a video doing makeup, and ASMR video can literally be anything, no matter how boring it sounds. It can be tapping random objects, to roleplaying a situation. Overall, it’s a pretty diverse community.

I discovered ASMR in early quarantine from my favorite app, TikTok. From there, I started watching videos on YouTube. I found that it helped me feel relaxed and good at a time that is neither of those things.

So far, I have personally found that my favorite ASMR YouTubers are Jocie B ASMR and itsblitzzz. While Jocie B does solo and personal attention ASMR (which means it’s personally directed towards the viewer), itsblitzzz usually has someone with her who she is pampering and massaging.

If you are curious and perhaps don’t know where to start, I highly recommend both of their channels! However, there are so many creators and videos of ASMR and each person has their own style, so even if you don’t end up liking the ones I recommend, you are bound to find something made for you.

Watching these videos inspired me to do my own and so, I told my friend Jenny my idea and she was very open to it (which I am extremely grateful for!) . Big disclaimer though; this video did not end up exactly how I wanted to and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share it.

For one, I live on a very busy street (which you can clearly hear in the video). I tried to be soothing and relaxing to pamper Jenny but there were some very funny and awkward moments (a lot of which I edited it out).

Regardless, I wanted to share because it was something we spent hours on and had fun doing. Even if it isn’t perfect, this was my first attempt. Using what I already had at home (including a tripod for my phone, ring light, and lavalier microphone) and a small idea, I was able to film this video. It was funny, it was messy, and now I know what to do to make a better one.

I would love to film one doing my own makeup. If you guys would like to see that, let me know! But for now, enjoy this one.

Special thank you to Jenny for allowing me to do her makeup and play with her hair. I know many people are not a fan of that but she was a trooper.

Bye for now and see you all next week!

XOXO
