What's in My Work Bag
When I graduated college back in 2019, I had no idea I would be thrust into the work world so quickly. Within a week of my last final, I had miraculously secured a job!
But then came COVID 19 and in March, work came to a halt. For two full months, I was jobless and had 0 income. However, at the beginning of May, I went back to work full time from home.
And now, since the end of September, I have been going into the small business I work at twice a week. It’s been a nice change of pace and I genuinely enjoy my time there, especially after being at home for so long.
That is why I want to show you all what’s in my work bag! Like last week’s post, I decided to make a TikTok (actually two) to visually show you all what I pack up when I head to work those two days out of the week.
I will have everything I can find linked below!
I bought my “work bag” AKA this backpack, from Amazon two years ago for college. I know it’s not really that stylish but it has SO much space for everything I carried then and now. I also use this backpack when I travel. Inside, you’ll find two pockets for a laptop and tablet as well as several smaller pockets. Not to mention it’s incredibly sturdy and has very little wear and tear for how much I use it.
It’s important to stay hydrated y’all! I think plastic water bottles are wasteful af and I love my water cold so I bring my marvel travel mug to work. This was not included in the TikTok’s, but I also have a matching coaster in my bag my mom got me to use at my work desk!
P.S. I also included this travel mug in my Amazon favorites post!
Work keys
I included my work keys because I love the Britney Spears key chain I have with them. It’s inspirational and motivating. I actually bought this at a Britney Spears event a week before going into quarantine (which you can read about here).
I type and click for 40 hours a week, leading me to develop wrist pain. This brace helps lessen the impact and it also happens to be my favorite color.
I’ve been using reading glasses for a few years now but once I started work, I noticed I was getting headaches after being on the computer for hours. Someone suggested I try blue light blocking glasses. Blue light is emitted from digital screens and can cause discomfort. I went ahead and purchased some and guess what? No headaches since!
I didn’t like the idea of my small mouse free-floating in my bag so I decided to purchase this sturdy and inexpensive case. I bought my mouse in-store at my local Target. It seems like the pink one I have is no longer available but the gray version of it is.
I keep any documents I’m given in my handy file folder. I actually bought this for college but as you can see, I still use it today! It has several pockets and keeps any papers organized and neatly stashed.
I actually take my laptop to work and use this manilla folder looking sleeve to protect my MacBook. When I go to work, I take out my laptop, place it on top of the sleeve, and use the flap as a mouse pad. It’s incredibly convenient and came in handy when I flew to Oklahoma and had to work there.
I bought the pink plastic hardshell case as seen in my TikTok on Amazon as well. The butterfly is a sticker.
