My Top Four Favorite Teas
There is nothing a cup of tea can’t fix
Let’s spill the tea guys! Today, I will be sharing with you some of my favorite teas. I am not a big fan of coffee, but I need to get caffeine from somewhere and so, tea became my primary addiction.
Tea can be a controversial topic. Some people love it, some people hate it. However, this is a safe space for all tea lovers so let’s indulge!
For breakfast, choose PG Tips:
PG Tips is your classic black English breakfast tea. It’s incredibly strong and rich. I’ve tried several other brands of black tea but so far, PG Tips is my absolute favorite. You can get this at any grocery store, Target, or Amazon. However, I purchase mine from World Market because it comes in a larger box and I tend to run through it pretty quickly!
For an afternoon delight, try English Rose Tea:
This rose-flavored tea by the British brand Whittard is a black tea that is very light. It’s not overwhelming and is great when paired with sweets. Sometimes I like to switch it up and have this in the morning instead of PG Tips. I found this tea at World Market and have not been able to find it anywhere else!
If you want to feel like royalty, Nina’s Marie Antoinette tea is for you
I’m going to be completely honest with you guys, this imported French tea is a splurge! This regal blend is made of black tea, rose, and apples grown in the garden of Versailles-yes that Versailles. This is a loose-leaf tea so you will need an infuser. The aroma this tea gives off is beautiful. And the collectible tin it comes in dreamy!
You can get this off Amazon and at specialty tea stores (Amazon will be cheaper though). A special shoutout to my friend Ash who gifted me this tea for my 23rd birthday after I mentioned that I really wanted to try it but thought it was too much to spend on tea since I was unemployed at the time.
For a cup of tea before bed, go with Vanilla Comoro
If you haven’t caught on, I love black tea. So, I found decaffeinated black tea to drink before bedtime. This Vanilla Comoro tea tastes rich but very creamy. However, the vanilla flavoring is very light-you definitely get more of the black tea taste in there! I buy this at my local target.
Just as a side note, Harney & Sons is an American tea brand and honestly the only American tea brand I like. I also recommend their Paris tea and pumpkin spice tea.
Some final tea tips:
Read the instructions on the box for how long you need to steep your tea. There’s nothing worst than under or over-steeped tea!
Always make sure you boil your water-please don’t put tea in the microwave! You can use the stove, but I prefer an electric kettle. I got mine for $20 at Costco. However, there are plenty of inexpensive options out there. The same goes for infusers for loose leaf tea. You can get them anywhere and for very cheap!
If you’re really new to tea or have never tried any, I would start with green tea. It’s very very light and not as bold as black tea. I like this one by Twinings.
If your an avid drinker like me and want to try something new, check out your local World Market. They have a vast selection of tea and a lot of it is imported! It is also very affordable but they do have the fancy stuff if you’re looking for it.
