Q&A With Mikaela Sinkler, Creator of Solēl Beauty
Hi! Today I am sharing with you all a Q&A I did with a friend of mine named Mikaela Sinkler.
I have known Mikaela for years and she is absolutely radiant and full of positivity (and good vibes!). When I heard she was launching her own beauty brand called Solēl, I knew that I had to ask her all about it.

Q: Tell me about yourself and who you are for those that don’t know you
A: My name is Mikaela, I am 25 years old and I feel like I am just a spec in the universe, but with so much power all at the same time. I care deeply for my family, my friends, and mother earth. I spend my time trying to tap into creativity, grow every day, learning to love myself, to know my triggers, and to continue on my spiritual journey. I try to encourage myself that I have the power to control my reality and being okay with not being perfect all the time. That’s a big one.

Q: Why and how did you start Solēl?
A: The idea for Solēl popped up about a year ago when I was at Trader Joe’s. I was checking the “new arrivals”, and I found this cute little body butter. I took a look at the back and the ingredients were a little crazy- which is so common for commercial products.
Traditionally “body butter” has no water and is composed of oils/butters. I wanted to create a product that was truly healing for the body because I value natural living. I feel as a society we need to come back to nature as much as possible- we’ve become so disconnected.
From the processed foods we consume to the beauty products we use on our bodies. Even in medicine. Herbs and ancient alchemy have been made to seem like the “alternative”. However, I truly believe mother earth provides everything we need- it’s the toxic environments, foods, and chemicals that have made us so sick.
Solēl emphasizes using natural and organic options as much as possible to push this message forward. At the end of the day, I want to use Solēl as a broad platform to explore myself and my interests- as she is an extension of me! Who knows what she may evolve into.

Q: What is the significance of the name “Solēl”?
A: I love the name solēl (pronounced so-leel). It makes me smile so hard! Her name was created from a mix-match of ideas in my head. Sol translates to “sun” in Spanish, and I believe she radiates love and good vibrations as the sun does. Solēl is a concept and an idea from a place of love that I wish to express.

Q: How do you want people to feel after using your products?
A: I really want Solēl to be a gateway for people to check in with themselves. I want them to find gratitude in the present moment; to take a deep breath and shower themselves in love. I want people to find healing both physically and emotionally within themselves.
I believe my products could facilitate this by giving a reason to slow down- taking a few minutes to give yourself a massage, to light a candle, and begin to meditate. I want people to find their own power, with a little push from Solēl.

Q: What's in store for Solēl in the future?
A: I hope Solēl will continue to grow and evolve with me! I want to hold space to do whatever feels right when that time comes. As an ever-changing human, that is all I can promise! However, I have hopes to add more products and pieces of my heart along the way.
