Podcasts I Can't Stop Listening to During Quarantine

In today’s post, I’m revisiting a topic I have discussed before; podcasts! In November, I wrote a post about some of my favorites. Since then, I have discovered new ones that I absolutely wanted to share with you all.

With quarantine, podcasts have become an even bigger outlet for me than they were before. I started to go on long walks and sometimes, the wifi at my home would shut off for days at a time. In both instances, podcasts helped me pass the time and not feel so alone.

Alright alright, I don’t mean to get so sentimental about it, so let’s get into what podcasts I am currently listening to. As I have mentioned in other posts, I’m very much into true crime and the paranormal and so, that is was most of these podcasts will consist of. If that is your cup of tea then keep on reading, if not, sorry!

You can listen to every single podcast I will mention using the “podcast” app on iPhone or Spotify. However, I will also link every corresponding episode that I can. Happy listening!

  • Lights Out: I’m really excited to talk about this podcast because it is done by Josh Thomas, the husband of one of my favorite YouTubers, Kendall Rae! Kendall and Josh actually have their own podcast, Mile Higher Podcast, which I am a huge fan of and have mentioned a few times on my blog. In “Lights Out” however, Josh branches out on his own and discusses the paranormal and true crime. This podcast premiered a few weeks ago, and so far, my favorite episode is the very first one “The Devil Made Me Do It”.

  • Morbid: A True Crime Podcast: Hosts Ash & Alaina are normal gals who love everything spooky and true crime-related. When I stumbled upon this podcast and started listening, I felt right at home! They are funny, sassy, and overall relatable. Not only that, but they talk about true crime cases that I have never heard of and lay down all the nitty-gritty details for you. A recent episode I enjoyed is episode 135: Ezra McCandless.

  • Real Narcos: When “Narcos” first came out on Netflix in 2015, I was shooketh, to say the least. Although I knew who Pablo Escobar was, I never knew the extent of his life and crimes. “Real Narcos” breaks it down for you in less than one-hour episodes. With a net worth in the billions, Escobar was the wealthiest criminal in history. He also gave 0 f**** and did everything, including his own imprisonment on his own terms. If that sounds remotely interesting to you, definitely check “Real Narcos” out beginning with the first episode “Baptism of Fire”.

  • The Plot Thickens: My fellow cinephiles, this one is for you! In “The Plot Thickens”, host Ben Mankiewicz interviews legendary film director, Peter Bogdanovich. Although I unfortunately have never seen a Bogdanovich film, I knew who he was and was familiar with his work. In this podcast, Bogdanovich speaks of his beginnings in film, his influences, and his notorious love life. If you love film and autobiographies, you’ll love this one! Listen from the first episode, “Bugs”.

  • Creepy Caffeine: I recently discovered “Creepy Caffeine” and let me tell you, it’s great! Hosts Whitney and Dani keep me smiling wide while talking about spooky but very interesting topics. They are a smaller podcast, and for that, I give them major props and a big shout out. A recent episode I recommend is about glitches in the matrix and the Mandela effect (very crazy stuff)!

  • Two Girls One Ghost: Like “Creepy Caffeine” and “Morbid”, “Two Girls One Ghost” is hosted by two women, Corinne and Sabrina. Together, these long time friends discuss the paranormal. I especially love their “encounters” episodes, where they read listener submitted paranormal experiences. Though things can get eerie and downright creepy, Corrine and Sabrina keep it lighthearted and make you feel like you’re hanging out with friends. Check out “Encounters x85” for a scary good time.

I wish I could say that I listen to some zen or self-help podcasts, but that’s just not me! If you are a huge fan of the topics I mentioned above, you will undoubtedly love these!

Please give them a listen, and if you have your own podcasts suggestions for me, please don’t hesitate to shoot me a DM on Instagram or an email (click the envelope on the top or below). That’s all for today, I hope everyone has a splendid week and had a good mother’s day weekend.

XOXO
