Top 5 Things You Should Try From the 99 Cents Only Store
A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about products you should try from Dollar Tree. Well, I’m back at it again but this time, the focus is on the 99 Cents Only Store!
Just like Dollar Tree, 99 Cents Only Stores are relatively easy to find and you might be surprised to learn that they sell plenty of self-care and beauty related items. In fact, their beauty aisle is massive and I spent a good amount of time looking through all their products.
Below are a few items I’ve tried that are personally Leslie approved. Just as a disclaimer, some of these items are above 99¢, but they are still extremely affordable and perfect for having “me” time!
Makeup wipes
Makeup removing wipes can get pricey. It’s one of those things that shouldn’t really be expensive. I mean it’s just a wipe after all. I’m here to tell you that these makeup remover wipes from the 99¢ store work just as well and feel just as nice as my go-to Neutrogena wipes. Their soft and don’t dry out your skin. Do yourself a favor and stop wasting money on something you can get for much cheaper that works just the same!
Under-eye mask
Admittingly, I don’t personally find that under-eye masks help decrease my dark circles. However, I love that they make my eyes feel cool and hydrated, especially after a long day of working on my computer. These ones from the 99¢ store are soft and don’t pull at my skin ( a problem I’ve had with other under-eye masks). They will also up your self-care game and “me” time!
Makeup
If you’re looking for brand name makeup on a budget, the 99¢ store is the place to go. I was surprised to see brands like Maybelline (my personal favorite drugstore brand), Loreal, and Rimmel. However, there is a downside. A lot of this makeup can go up to $2 and there are very few color options.
Still, it’s definitely worth a shot to see what your local store has. I’ve purchased the Maybelline Master Precise Ink Metallic Liquid Liner in “Stellar Sand” for $1.50 and the Maybelline New York Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon in “Refreshing Red” for $1-both at a significantly lower price than if I had bought them at a drugstore or Target.
Makeup sponges
A staple in my makeup routine for blending out my under eye and blemish concealer are the Real Techniques Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges ($8.99). When I saw these at the 99¢ store, I knew I had to try them out to see how they compared to my Real Techniques mini sponges.
Let me first say that ecoTools is an amazing brand and I own some of their brushes, so I had good faith in these and I was right! Although they are a different shape than the Real Techniques sponges, they work just as well!
I will say that the Real Techniques sponges are squishier, but I find that these ecoTools sponges still do the job of blending my concealer the way I want it to. These are $1.99, a steal since ecoTools themselves sell them for $7.99!
