Top 5 Things You Should Try From Dollar Tree

Hello Friends! Welcome back to another post on The Leslie Life. Today’s post is all about being on a #budget, which is why we are talking about Dollar Tree

My local store is blocks away and overall, Dollar Tree’s are easy to find in any state. Besides the usual things you can buy here (like household cleaning items or craft supplies), I’m here to tell you that Dollar Tree is a great place to find self-care items. The best part? Each thing is only $1!

Below are a few items I have bought and tried from my local store that are Leslie approved. I decided to do this post after seeing a few Tik Tok videos about products from Dollar Tree people recommended. So, here is my own!

  • Charcoal Cleansing Nose Strips

I decided to try these because why not? I have used the Biore Charcoal Strips before and I wanted to know if there was a difference between a name brand and off-brand product. Spoiler: there isn’t. These worked just as well and even better, in my opinion, to get the gunk off your nose. For $1, you get two strips, a steal compared to the usual $8+ for only six strips.

  • Makeup

I had heard rave reviews about Wet N Wild makeup brushes and though they are extremely inexpensive, they are also great. To my surprise, I found these brushes at my local Dollar Tree and I LOVE them.

If you couldn’t tell by the faded letters, my favorite and most used is the crease brush (as seen in the middle). This, along with the smokey liner (left) and large eyeshadow brush (right) works even better than my other more expensive eye brushes. If you see these, make sure to pick them up!

Dollar Tree carries several makeup products, but I am going to be talking about the L.A. Colors liquid eyeliner (seen above). After a Tik Tok video I watched suggested this eyeliner, I decided to give it a try. It is very similar to another eyeliner I have mentioned and love, the black Wet n Wild MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner ($3.99). Both are smooth, shiny, and easy to use. It also lasts all day! If you are looking for a very inexpensive eyeliner, make sure to try this one out!

  • Nail Polish

Listen Y’all, I’ve tried $20 nail polish, and clearly since I’m writing about this, I’ve tried dollar nail polish. In my experience, both chip readily and so, I stopped spending $$ on nail polish. When I saw this bright red varnish, I knew I had to try it. Here’s my verdict: it doesn’t feel cheap and it goes on smooth. They had a variety of colors (red is my go-to), so if you need a mani on a budget, you know where to go!

  • Scalp massager

Want to up your shower game? Add a scalp massager! Lather your shampoo and move this around your scalp for extra relaxation. I bought this after seeing an $8 version of this on Amazon. Lo and behold, Dollar Tree has its own.

  • Jade roller

This is a very tiny jade roller but it does the trick nonetheless! I was also absolutely stunned to see this for only $1. I know there’s supposed to be health benefits and what not but I personally pop into the fridge and use it after applying my face serums. The cold jade feels nice and refreshing on my skin.

BONUS: You guys probably already know this, but I wanted to mention that Dollar Tree has plenty of name brand snacks and candy. I always stock up when I go! Besides this, they have several things to keep you occupied during quarantine like puzzles, word searches, and coloring books!

That’s all I have for you guys today. Thank you for reading and I hope this makes your next Dollar Tree trip more exciting. Sending lots of love your way.

Xoxo
