A Very Small Five Below Haul & Review

A Very Small Five Below Haul & Review

Happy Monday and welcome back to The Leslie Life! This weekend was a slow one. I spent my time organizing and cleaning as one does. The one “exciting” thing I did was visit my local five below.

Five below is a discount store marketed towards kids and teens. Most everything is $5 or below (hence the title). Although, there are some select items that are over this price, but nothing is beyond $10.

After seeing a few videos raving about it, I decided to check it out for myself. But before I did, I made sure to set a budget and to get only what I needed.

The reason I decided to go in the first place was to find some things I needed in my room to organize my closet. So, this is a very small haul (only four things) but it will definitely tell you all you need to know about five below! Before I show you what I bought and my thoughts, let me tell you what it was like because this was my first time shopping there.

When I arrived, there was a line to get in. It was a little long but I was in fifteen minutes, so not too bad. Once I was in, I was overwhelmed by the amount of things they have. They sell toys, a plethora of school supplies and crafts for kids. However, they also have home/room decor, as well as beauty products that are definitely marketed towards an older audience.

I must say that there home decor is adorable, especially for a room, dorm, or even a first apartment! And of course, it is very inexpensive. With so many items to look through, I spent a good hour inside the store. It was very busy (especially since it was a Saturday), but things moved pretty quickly!

I found exactly what I needed to organize my closet and headed out. I spent a total of $19. Here’s what I got:

Laundry Basket-$5:

The closet doors in my room partly broke and as a result, they were completely taken off. As I wait for my replacements, this means I’m living face to face with my closet, and let me tell you, it was bad.

One issue I had was the linen basket I kept my dirty laundry in had fallen apart (I keep my laundry basket inside my closet). When I saw this one, I thought it was a cute and simple replacement. It fits right in with my pink aesthetic and doesn’t take too much space. For $5, it’s pretty sturdy and they had a plethora of colors. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Collapsible bin-$5:

I bought this bin to organize my work out clothes. I have a smaller bin like this that keeps my sports bras and pants. However, it was way too full and overflowing. The situation got out of hand and so, I decided to get another bin.

I must say that this bin is large and also incredibly sturdy for $5. It fit all my pants with room to spare. Like the laundry basket, they had several different colors. I keep this bin on a shelf in my closet where I can easily access it. If you need a simple and hassle-free way to organize clothing items, this is a great way to do it!

Lips masks-$2.25:

I popped these in my mini fridge before trying them out and sadly, I was very disappointed. They did not stick on, they didn’t stay cool and unfortunately, they irritated my lips. This is a no for me but it definitely could have been worst!

Shower speaker-$5:

Out of the four things I purchased, this was my favorite! It’s a small waterproof speaker that connects to your phone via Bluetooth. It’s compact and perfect for traveling, the beach, and more. The sound quality is great and I was honestly pretty surprised. I used it in the shower to listen to Folklore by Taylor Swift and I’m excited to use it in the shower again and out with friends. I questioned buying this and thought I would regret it, but It was 100% worth the $5!

My final thoughts:

Overall, besides the lip masks, I’m pleasantly surprised with my purchases. There is SO much to see at five below; it’s a great way to redecorate your room, get items for a self-care day, or to keep kids entertained on a budget. You can easily spend $100 here which is why I went with the intention of only grabbing a few things.

If you love makeup like me, they sell most, if not all of wet n wild’s ( an affordable brand I love) products. I saw face masks, journals, even furniture pieces all for $5 or less. If you are interested in any of these products, I would definitely check them out.
