Hi!

My Top Rated Cafés

My Top Rated Cafés

Everybody and I mean everybody knows that I love tea. I talk about it all the time whether in person or on my blog. However, this past year, my fondness for coffee, surprisingly grew.

I figured out that what was actually making me feel sick wasn’t the coffee itself but the dairy (oops..now I make sure to go with oat or almond milk) 😇. Nonetheless, tea is king and I will only have coffee maybe once or twice a week as a treat.

That being said, I’ve accumulated a small list of my personal favorite Cafés that sell both amazing coffee and tea below. For your convenience, these are all in the LA/ OC area.

This is not the first time I mention Morning Lavender and with good reason. It’s aesthetic, charming, and their coffee and tea are always on point. Do me a favor, and check it out if you’re ever in Old Town Tustin. My favorite drink is the sea salt jasmine green tea.

Pro tip: You can check out their menu and order ahead on their website.

Special shout out to my friend Sierra for taking me to Republik Coffee before they moved to Portland. It’s quaint and has the BEST food. It’s a little pricy but 100% worth it. It’s also dog-friendly and has both indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend the lavender & oat latte and the prosciutto burrata toast!

Pro tip: the parking in downtown Pasadena is minimal and is paid by the meter but there is free street parking on Hudson Street, which is very close to Republik Coffee.

This is a no-frills place for both coffee and tea. My go-to is always a vanilla latte with oat milk or an iced passion fruit jasmine tea. This is a small chain and my closest location is in my hometown of Redondo Beach. However, there are also locations nearby in Culver City and Westchester.

Pro tip: If you stop at the one in Redondo, make sure to go next door to Eat At Joe’s, a yummy South Bay staple.

Urth has several locations in Southern California but my favorite one is in Santa Monica (the one in Laguna Beach is second best). I don’t think I have to elaborate on why. Their food is delicious and so are the drinks. I always go with a Morrocan tea latte, green rose tea latte or an African tea latte. I give all of them a 10/10. As for food, they have the best mac n cheese I have ever tried….believe me (even though it is a kids menu item).

Pro tip: parking in Santa Monica can be a nightmare but Lot 11 at 170 Hollister Ave is across the street from Urth and is very affordable (it’s meter parking).

I have only been here once but I felt like it deserved an honorable mention. The parking situation is bad (it’s located on Hermosa Ave) but the drinks and food were soooo good. I got a rose matcha latte and a breakfast bagel sandwich. This place is not cheap. The latte and the bagel ended up being more than $20 with tip but I enjoyed every sip and morsel of it.

Pro tip: Walk on the strand after grabbing your food or drink. Keep in mind that food is only available after 8 am.

Before I sign off I just want to let y’all know that I LOVE Starbucks, Peet’s, and Coffee Bean (but especially Starbucks-who doesn’t?).

Thanks for reading now go get a cup of tea or coffee!

XOXO
