Get To Know Me Better

Hello, welcome back to The Leslie Life! Although I’m usually prepared AF, I wasn’t sure what to write about this week. I’ve been taking things slow and putting my focus into work and creating future plans.

That being said, I decided to do a Q&A with some questions I found online. For the most part, I’m an open book and love sharing my experiences with you all! My hope is that you’ll learn more about who I am through the six questions below ☺️. Enjoy!

Q: What is your favorite thing about your career?

A: I am currently working from home as a freelance writer and I have to say the best part is the work-life balance! I created my hours and schedule to work with my lifestyle. This also means I can work from anywhere in the world 🌎. Moreover, I get to write about topics I actually am interested in!

Q: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

A: I absolutely love Los Angeles and my hometown but I’ve been thinking lately that I would one day like to live in Seattle. I was enthralled by how green and cozy the city felt and it’s what I wish LA was more like. Although Seattle is not cheap by any means, it’s slightly less expensive than LA!

Q: Who is your favorite author?

A: I’m unsure if I’ve answered this before on my blog so If I have, I apologize! My favorite author is John Fante. He’s a Los Angeles literary icon who inspired another one of my favorites, Charles Bukowski (it was actually through Bukowski that I found my way to Fante).

Fante was the son of Italian immigrants and he lived around the South Bay (where I currently live). I can go on and on so I’ll just say this: most of his books deal with his experiences as being a child of immigrants and being a writer. Simply put, I can heavily relate. My favorite of his works includes “The Road to Los Angeles” and “Dreams From Bunker Hill.”

Q: What do you do to keep fit?

A: I personally do not like gyms! Before the pandemic, I went to my local Planet Fitness. When it closed during quarantine, I started to walk and bike more frequently (which is what I still do now). During the week, I will either walk 3-4 miles or bike 10 miles on the beach, whatever I’m in the mood for! I credit it to maintaining my health and figure.

Q: What are your beliefs about marriage?

A: If you want to get married, get married. If you don’t, then don’t! I don’t place too much importance on marriage and I feel like some people rush into it. I’m not opposed to getting married one day but It’s really not a priority for me. I also think if a marriage doesn’t work, it’s ok! Getting divorced is ok!

Q: Is there a charitable cause you support?

A: Yes! I donate to St. Jude’s to help fund treatment for children with cancer. This is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart. To donate, click here!

Thank you for reading! I’ve done other Q&As before so if you want to see more, click here and here! See you next time.

XOXO
