Hi!

Wack Zillow Listings

Wack Zillow Listings

If you’re anything like me, then maybe you spend a lot of time looking at Zillow listings. This habit of mine started before the pandemic but definitely progressed more in the midst of it.

Zillow offers escapism in a quick bite. Can I afford real estate? Hell to the no (especially not in Los Angeles 🙄). That being said, browsing through Zillow is a different experience every time.

You see the bad, the good, the OMG, and the really bad. I decided to look through Zillow a few days ago to find listings that I thought were wack, awful, and comical to share with my readers.

Of course, I had to narrow it down. To do that, I stayed in California and went with the years 1850-1945. I figured the older the home, the weirder things could get and I was right.

I will be posting screenshots of the homes I chose below as well as the link so you can guys can check out the listing for yourself.

When I tell you that Los Angeles real estate makes me sick, I mean it 🤢. Let me show you around this 1920 build. At $655k, it’s a steal. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Shall we look inside?

The listing has very little information on the house but it does have several more photos. However, it does say that it’s a cash-only purchase. So, for over half a million dollars, you can buy this and live in Los Angeles and live the dream (whatever that means). Anyways, this home has been certified wack ✅. Let’s see the next one.

I don’t think I have to go too into depth about this listing. $35k isn’t a lot but you know, it seems a lot to me for that. Now Im gonna put the description of this listing below so you can all nervously laugh with me.

Usually, listings like this make it very clear that is a teardown and try to sell you on the fact that you can build your dream desert oasis on the grounds. This listing, however, fails to do that and also tries to sell you on the “beautiful views”. I’m sorry, where they at? And also, what do you mean by “electric nearby”?

I’m telling you right now that this 1950’s era cabin (if it can even be called that) is going to need more than a little TLC. You can see more photos and the entire listing here.

If you’ve ever been to the California desert, you know it’s more than just a little strange. It feels like a different universe entirely and that’s the feeling I got when viewing this particular listing. First of all, the photo quality was BAD. Second, let’s talk about the actual description.

What really got my attention is the claim that this 121-year-old home is “move-in ready”.

Ummm…ok.

I’m going to take a guess and say this house was maybe move-in ready fifty years ago. Also, do y’all see what I mean about the photo quality? These photos look like they were taken in 2005. I’m sure this place is great and all but it’s looking more than just a little sus. As the listing says though, I guess it has potential 😬

California is massive; I had never even heard of Coulterville. A quick search revealed that it’s about 6 hours away from Los Angeles and is near Yosemite. I found this house to be less wack and more cursed/haunted.

Built in 1899, if you buy this house, you are literally buying a piece of history. As you can see from the photos below, it is full of antiques and they come with the house.

Nonetheless, I have several questions. Why were the antiques left with the house? And why does the house look frozen in time? I mean the original stove is even there (see below).

Anyways, I actually do think this place has potential and could be a nice B&B or an Airbnb. However, I would not be surprised if it was haunted AF. More importantly, why is there only 1 bathroom when there are 5 bedrooms? Sigh. To see more photos of the house, click here.

Alright, everyone, that’s all the listings I have for today! If you guys enjoyed this post, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to do another one. I love looking through real estate listings and thinking about what I personally would want my own house to look like (It’s called manifesting bby).

Thanks for reading!

XOXO
