My July Favorites
I know July isn’t over quite yet, but that doesn’t mean I can’t share with you all a few products I’ve been absolutely loving this month.
It’s been a while since I have done a blog post like this so I figured “why not”! Each item I will be discussing is affordable and easily attainable. Without further ado, let’s dive into my July 2021 favorites!
Who doesn’t love to smell good? My usual perfume of choice is Ari by Ariana Grande (I own all of her perfumes and they are all heavenly). I’ve been wearing it for years but wanted to switch it up. That’s when I remembered I like a perfume my friend Brigitte wears called Flowerbomb. With a retail price range of $85-$165, this was out of my budget…until I discovered Dossier.
Dossier remakes luxury perfumes and packages them in a simple glass bottle. They then sell it to you for a fraction of the price. Thus, I ended up paying less than $40 (shipping included) for their version of Flowerbomb (called Gourmand White Flowers).
The scent is the same as the original and it lasts all day. They have several other luxury perfume recreations that range from $29-$39. Shipping was fast and overall, I was very impressed with the quality. I have been wearing it every time I go out and I absolutely love it.
First things first, I shamelessly bought this (and the product below this one) because of TikTok. Influencers were loving it and calling it a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. I have never tried any of CT’s products, so I can’t personally say this is a dupe. However, I was liking the results I was seeing on other people and wanted to try it for myself.
After wearing it several times, I have to say that I really think this is a great product. It’s lightweight, blends into the skin seamlessly, and gives you a beautiful dewy glow. That being said, this is NOT a foundation (I liken it to a tinted moisturizer). The sponge applicator makes it easy to apply and I use a small kabuki brush to blend it all in.
The only downside is that they only have five shades ( I use shade “light”). However, Maybelline claims that it’s self-adjusting to your skin tone. If you love a no-makeup look glowy look, I think you’ll also love this product!
Let’s talk about another viral TikTok product; the Dior Rosy Glow Blush in pink. At $37, it’s expensive, to say the least. I did swatch it in-store and was impressed but I could not justify spending $40 on a blush. When I saw that this $3.99 blush in the shade “The Berry Connection 40” was a dupe, I went online and purchased it. Essence is an amazing brand that is dirt cheap and this blush is equally impressive. It has a beautiful color payoff and flicks of sparkles in it. I would say that it does compare to the Dior blush but the Essence blush has more shine. If you need a new blush, definitely pick this one up.
Claw clips are back baby and I’m here for it! I’ve seen these everywhere and even at Urban Outfitters (where they charge $12 for one clip 🙄 ).
Anyways, I wanted to jump the trend not only because it’s cute, but because I have tons of hair. I went on Amazon and found a 4 pack of these for less than $7 and decided to give them a go. Well, it’s safe to say that I love them and they are both casual and trendy. They are quite sturdy ( a must) and the colors are unique.
